If you need a little laughter in your life, there are two upcoming comedy festivals that you can attend for less than $20.
The Atlanta Improv Festival: Held at Village Theatre, from March 19 – March 21, this event will showcase seven local comedy groups — Dad's Garage, Village Theatre, Whole World Theatre, The Basement Theatre, Automatic Improv, Laughing Matters and Highwire Comedy Company. Chicago's comedy group 3033 and five national groups from Tampa, New Orleans, Detroit, Charleston and Sarasota will also perform. Comedy workshops will be available and proceeds from the event will benefit the new theatre at Dad's Garage. Laughing Skull Comedy Festival: Now in its sixth year, this festival gets more than 400 submissions from the US and Canada. This year 72 finalists will compete for the first place prize. The festival plays host to bookers and agents who come to see up and coming comics. You can see the action March 25 through March 29 with tickets ranging from $15 – $30.
