Sen. Rand Paul, Maxine Williams, Dan Rather added as SXSW speakers

South by Southwest Interactive on Monday announced a short set of new featured speakers added to the March 13-17 festival.

Among them were Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), who'll be in conversation with Texas Tribune editor-in-chief Evan Smith; Nick Bilton of the New York Times, newscaster Dan Rather and top aide to President Barack Obama, Dan Pfeiffer on a panel about breaking news; Julia Boorstin of CNBC on a panel with previously announced speaker Pete Cashmore of Mashable; IEX Group Inc. CEO Brad Katsuyama on a panel about disrupting Wall Street; and Facebook head of global diversity Maxine Williams and Rebuild the Dream president Van Jones on a presentation about teaching kids to code.
