Avalon, the new mixed-use development in Alpharetta, is now offering a series of weekly specials for those who want to visit the ice skating rink before it closes on Feb. 15.

The outdoor rink, located in the Plaza, was inspired by the rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City and is comparable in size. General admission to the rink is $16 and includes skate rental.

Here are some of the specials they offer:

On Friday, Jan. 16, you can enjoy “Movie Magic Skate Night.” From 5 – 10 p.m., characters from favorite films will join skaters on the rink as they skate to movie songs and scores. Some characters include Captain America, fairytale princesses and the Boxtrolls. Wear a costume and get $2 off admission.

Every Monday is Military Night. All active military and veterans with military ID will receive $2 off admission.

Every Tuesday is School Spirit Night. Students and teachers can bring their school ID or school bulletin for $2 off admission.

Every Thursday is Date Night. Couples will receive $4 off two ice skating tickets by showing same-day receipt of $75 or more from one of Avalon’s restaurants.

The rink is located at The Plaza at Avalon, 2200 Avalon Boulevard, Alpharetta. For additional information, visit Avalon on Twitter @AvalonInsider or Facebook at facebook.com/AvalonInsider or call 770- 765-1000.
