The chilly weather early Saturday indeed gave way to a sunny afternoon in and around metro Atlanta, as forecast by Channel 2 Action News.

“As we head into the afternoon, we are going to have a lot of sunshine,” meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Saturday’s high is forecast at 62, with light winds and practically no chance of rain, Monahan said.

Things could get chilly again Saturday night, though the expected low of 38 is above freezing.

Sunday’s high is expected to be 65 degrees.

About 4 p.m. Saturday, temps were at 60 in Atlanta, 63 in Griffin and 62 in Blairsville.
