While many locals are familiar with the dish, First We Feast’s “Food Grails,” a food series on YouTube, put the special chicken on full display.

In the nearly 15-minute-long episode, the host Miss Info chatted with several Atlanta notables, including Waka Flocka, about the origin of the unique flavor and how it’s become a staple for city. It’s such a hot topic that it’s been discussed in music and TV shows like FX’s  “Atlanta.”

"Lemon pepper wings and Atlanta, it's like a peach. It's like apples in New York. It's like white boys and Croc shoes,” the rapper said.

The cast even broke down the differences between J.R. Crickets, American Deli, Wing Stop, Dugans, LT’s and even Magic City — all restaurants famous for the wings in ATL — to determine who throws down in the kitchen the best.
