Hope you enjoyed that brief respite from the cold temperatures, because Sunday isn’t so nice.

After a Saturday afternoon of severe storms, Sunday is giving Atlanta a taste of clear skies with windy and cold weather. The expected high is about 40 degrees, according to Channel 2 meteorologist Eboni Deon.

“Winter has definitely made its presence known,” Deon said.

The day started out with with temperatures that felt like they are in the 20s, thanks to chilly winds that could reach up to 40 mph. A wind advisory is in effect for much of North Georgia until 7 p.m., Deon said.

Some moisture from the storms could stay behind overnight, possibly leading to some snow showers or wintry mix in the North Georgia mountains, Monahan said.

Temperatures Sunday are expected to dip into the 30s. For comparison, the average temperature this time of year is 52 degrees.

Then, Monday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high again in the low 40s.

There could be some traffic around State Farm Arena on Sunday afternoon, due to a Harlem Globetrotters show at 2:30 p.m.
