Workers in Roswell began a project that aims to boost business in downtown.

The East Alley Pathway Improvement Project broke ground on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

It is expected to take seven months and is funded by the City of Roswell and a grant from the Environmental Protection Division.

A release from the city says that the project will open opportunities for business entrances in the alley, unique destinations for shopping and dining, enhanced landscape features and inclusion of public art. Improvements will upgrade outdated infrastructure, efficient waste disposal, add new lighting and implement environment-friendly infrastructure elements.

The project will cause various road closures near East Alley Pathway.

Construction will take place during daylight hours.
