Saddle up, Suwanee — you're getting Gwinnett County's very first bike share program.

Suwanee officials announced Monday the city's new partnership with Zagster, Cigna and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Under the partnership, bikes will be housed at the Town Center and Suwanee Creek parks and available for renting.

Bikes will be rented via a cellphone app, with the first three hours of use being free and each additional hour priced at $3. Up to eight bikes will be kept at each park, officials said.

The program will be formally unveiled during a ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday at Town Center Park.

“Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is pleased to be a part of this wonderful recreation opportunity in Suwanee,” Annie Valenty, the hospital's community development officer, said in a news release. “As an organization dedicated to health and wellness, we believe in programs that encourage families to be active. This bike program will undoubtedly foster the importance of regular family recreation to all in the community.”

Zagster, which will maintain the program, bills itself as "the leading provider of bike share programs for cities, universities, businesses and properties." Its services are currently being used in Alpharetta and Smyrna, Suwanee officials said.
