Since its 18-month reconstruction wrapped in August, the Oakhurst business district has already hosted established events like August’s BBQ Blues & Bluegrass festival, and this month’s Porchfest.

But the brand new Little City Lowcountry Food Festival debuts 1-6 p.m. Sunday in the Oakhurst Village, 659 East Lake Drive. Founded by local restaurant owners Bryan Rackley and Scott Drake, food samplings will be prepared by chefs from 15 Decatur and Atlanta establishments including Kimball House, Steinbecks, Brick Store, Staplehouse, The Optimist, Illegal Food and Greater Good BBQ.

There is no set menu, with chefs preparing their dishes independently and serving them up in the field behind Steinbecks. Bluegrass/Americana bands Waits & Co. and The Georgia Mountain Stringband will also perform.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of (beer and cocktails extra). Part of the proceeds go to The Giving Kitchen and the Fifth Avenue 4/5 Academy in Oakhurst.
