2 killed in fiery crash near Fulton County airport

Two drivers were killed in a fiery head-on crash Tuesday evening at a busy Fulton County intersection.

Two SUVs collided about 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. and National drives near Fulton County Airport-Brown Field, according to Fulton County police spokesman Lt. Scott McBride. After impact, at least one of the vehicles burst into flames.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, McBride said. One of them was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner as 37-year-old Antwoin Hightower of Austell.

Authorities are still working to identify the other driver.

The fatal wreck remains under investigation, and police expect to release additional details about the crash on Thursday, McBride said.
