It's not even Halloween yet — but Gwinnett County has chosen the Christmas tree that will light up the holidays on the grounds of its historic courthouse.

County officials announced Tuesday that a 30-foot Norway spruce has been selected for use in the 29th Annual Lighting of the Tree ceremony in downtown Lawrenceville.

The tree will arrive from North Carolina on Nov. 9 and be installed the following day.

The actual tree lighting ceremony will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving night (Nov. 24). Festivities will include live music from the Class Act Band, food vendors and, of course, Santa Claus.

Attendance is free. The Gwinnett Historic Courthouse is at 185 W. Crogan St., Lawrenceville.
