Masks on their faces and weapons in their hands, three men walked into the Trader Joe's at The Forum — Peachtree Corners' high-end shopping center — on Sunday night.
One of them grabbed an employee that had been trying to buy some cookies, put a pistol to his head, and forced him and a female worker down an aisle.
“Don’t look at me girl,” he said, according to a Gwinnett County police incident report.
The robber’s two accomplices, meanwhile, ventured toward the office area at the front of the store. Brandishing a shotgun, they threw two employees to the ground and found the safe was still open.
They grabbed its contents — roughly $2,350 — and fled.
No one, not even the other employees who fled out a backdoor, saw where they went.
“I spoke with all of the witnesses and none of them were able to provide a direction that the suspects went after leaving the store, or whether the suspects left in a vehicle or on foot,” the responding Gwinnett County police officer wrote in a report, released Thursday to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Witnesses were also only able to provide vague descriptions of the men involved in the incident, which happened shortly before 10 p.m.
One, they said, was about 6 feet tall and wore all black. Another was about 5-foot-10 with a red skull cap and a gray sweatshirt.
The third, was only described as “skinnier” than the others.
There was no surveillance video available from inside the store, the incident report said, but police were attempting to get footage from outside.
No arrests have been made.
