A crane hit overhead power lines in Cobb County on Wednesday afternoon, injuring one person, officials said.

The incident occurred at Overlook Parkway in Vinings.

The person was taken to a local hospital and is expected to be OK, Cobb fire spokeswoman Denell Boyd said.

It is unknown how the person was injured, but Boyd said she believes “it was human error.”

A “short-lived” power outage affected about 12,000 Georgia Power customers in the area near Cobb Parkway and Cumberland Boulevard, said John Kraft, a spokesman for the company.

Georgia Power sent crews to the site, and all power was restored within 10 to 20 minutes, he said.

“It’s a reminder of how dangerous it can be” when power lines are disrupted, Kraft said.
