Police need help identifying a suspect they believe broke into two Gwinnett Tech police cars on the Alpharetta-North Fulton campus.

The incident occurred on May 21 between 4:57 and 5:26 a.m. Surveillance footage shows the suspect hanging around the campus on that date and time.

Police describe him as a male with black hair, 20 to 25 years old, and being about 5-foot-9.

Both cars — one marked and one unmarked — were used by Gwinnett Tech police officers, police said.

No property was removed from either car, but the unmarked one had damage to the dash area, and police said the damage is commonly seen in other cases of auto theft. The marked patrol car had a shattered windshield.

Alpharetta police ask that if anyone can identify the suspect, or if they have information about the incident, to call 678-297-6319 or email gjones@alpharetta.ga.us.
