Clayton Colunty has established an ordinance to give county vendors preference on contract bids.

Clayton County established a Local Vendor Preference Program in accordance to the ordinance passed May 2. The program became effective June 19 with the purpose to encourage business within Clayton County, help foster the creation of employment and business opportunities and generate additional revenue for the county.

Contractors with a physical address in Clayton County will be eligible for the preference. The program applies only to Request for Bid or Request for Proposal projects throughout the county.

To become certified as a Local Vendor, a vendor must submit a LVP application at least 30 days prior to the planned submission of a bid to Contract Compliance Division, Clayton County Central Services. If the company is not certified by the bid due date, it will not be allowed to receive local vendor preference on an LVP project.

Please make sure that your application is TYPED or LEGIBLY printed and signed in blue ink.
