Two people were taken to hospitals after an apartment fire Saturday morning in Brookhaven, according to DeKalb County fire officials.

The fire was in the 3600 block of Buford Highway, officials said.

The Red Cross provided assistance with emergency needs to about 38 adults and 8 children affected by the fire, spokeswoman Capt. Eric Jackson said.
