Hens are seen here at a chicken farm. A Georgia farmer is losing his contract with Pilgrim’s Pride after the Humane Society of the U.S. caught him on video abusing chickens.

The Humane Society of the United States secretly recorded a Georgia poultry farmer hitting a chicken with a metal rod.

Now, the owner of Plainview Farm in Hull is expected to lose his contract with Pilgrim’s Pride, a major chicken producer.

A HSUS spokesman said the investigation involved various facilities of Pilgrim's Pride, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

A HSUS representative made the video while at the farm, during a covert operation.

Another video that has surfaced shows chickens being “violently shackled” in a Pilgrim’s Pride slaughterhouse in Texas, officials said.
