SANDY SPRINGS

Tossed Out Treasures

Get ready to uncover some goodies as the Sandy Springs Society holds its “ultimate flea market.” Members of the society have collected and donated all kinds of items — clothing, iPads, furniture, sports memorabilia for that man cave — but what sets this market apart is the selectivity that goes into deciding what will make it to the sale tables. No VHS tapes or old IBM 286 computers here! Proceeds from the sale fund local charities and initiatives in the Sandy Springs community.

10 a.m.-5 p.m. March 27; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. March 28. Free. Marshalls Plaza, 6334 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs. 404-983-7406, sandyspringssociety.org.

ATLANTA

Kodo

The taiko performance group Kodo stops off in Atlanta as part of its One Earth Tour 2015: Mystery. Taiko is the art of Japanese percussion using a variety of drums, some small enough to be held in one hand. Other instruments are almost as big as the musicians playing them. With the drums providing the background, the performers take the audience on a musical journey rooted in traditional Japanese folk arts, updated with original compositions.

8 p.m. March 28. $59-$69; GSU students and faculty receive 50 percent off. Rialto Center for the Arts, 80 Forsyth St., Atlanta. 404-413-9849, rialto.gsu.edu or kodo.or.jp.
