BUFORD

Pet photos with Santa

Want to include the entire family in this year’s holiday photo? If it doesn’t quite feel right without the Fifi or Fido, then plan to take that photo at the Mall of Georgia this weekend. That’s when Santa will make a little extra room on his lap for your four-legged family members. For two hours on the evening of Dec. 10, enter through the Savvii Formalwear entrance and head to Santa in the Von Maur Court. He’ll be ready and waiting to pose with you and your pet. As easygoing as Santa is, though, he can only handle so much, so please leave the reptiles and other exotic creatures at home.

8-10 p.m. Dec. 10. Free. Mall of Georgia, 3333 Buford Drive NE Buford. 678-482-8788, simon.com/mall/mall-of-georgia.

CUMMING

Christmas in Cumming

Seasonal festivities are coming to Cumming! And the 21st annual Christmas in Cumming Arts & Crafts Show is a great place to find unusual gifts for the most finicky names on your list. For two days, snag unique crafts, from woven baskets and homemade wreaths to paintings and clothing, from the more than 100 vendors inside the heated Cumming Livestock Barn. In between browsing for goodies, pose for a free picture with Santa, check out the Christmas light show or munch on roasted marshmallows and homemade fudge while you listen to carolers. Wrap up the outing with just a tad of Jack Frost nose-nipping on a hayride.

4-9 p.m. Dec. 8; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 9. $1; children younger than 12 are free. City of Cumming Fairgrounds, 35 Castleberry Road, Cumming. 770-423-1330, cummingfair.net.

ROSWELL

Story Time with Alizah Anne Kaite

Ever wonder what the wild animals of the Chattahoochee are up to when people aren’t around? Local author Alizah Anne Katie has the answer. Read and sing along as she shares her children’s book, “Filbert and Wally: Chattahoochee Daydreams.” It recounts the adventures of a local tree frog and a barred owl as they play Georgia Truth or Dare and post to Frogbook. Toddlers and elementary school-age tykes will learn a bit of natural history as well.

2 p.m. Dec. 9. Free. Roswell Branch Library, 115 Norcross St., Roswell. 770-640-3075, afpls.org.
