Back to school events: St. Andrews Presbyterian Church will host two back-to-school events. The first will welcome families, teachers and students of all ages at a special prayer to bless backpacks, tote bags and messenger bags. Participants will receive a bag tag as a reminder that God goes wherever they go. 10 a.m. Aug. 6. The second event will be the church's sixth annual back-to-school carnival featuring face painting, bounce houses, spin art, a petting zoo, Bible stories and church songs as well as hot dogs, chips, snow cones and other snacks. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 12.
