The Ringling
A pink Renaissance-style mansion built by circus magnate John Ringling in Sarasota joins the Loews Don CeSar Hotel on St. Pete Beach as my favorite flamingo-hued properties. The 56-room mansion, called Ca'd'Zan, is part of the Ringling, which is the state art museum and includes the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and the Circus Museum. Exhibits range from the history of the circus to contemporary and Asian art. During the 2014-2015 fiscal year, 400,209 people visited the Ringling. 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota, Fla. 941-359-5700, ringling.org, @TheRingling.

The museum, which features international art of the 20th and 21st centuries, opened in its new building in 2013 in downtown Miami's Museum Park. Located between the Adrienne Arsht Center and the American Airlines Arena, its outdoor plazas include eye-catching displays, such as tropical hanging gardens made of native plants. 1103 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. 305-375-3000, pamm.org, @pamm.
Florida Southern College
This Central Florida school boasts the largest one-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world. You can take paid or self-guided walking tours of the Lakeland college's 13 completed structures, including the stunning renovated Annie Pfeiffer Chapel, with colorful glass beads laid in patterned "textile blocks." Wright designed and built 12 buildings from the 1930s to the 1950s after selecting the school for its organic architecture. The Usonian House, based on a 1939 design by Wright, was finished in 2013. 750 Frank Lloyd Wright Way, Lakeland, Fla. 863-680-4597, FLSouthern.edu/fllwctr, @FLSouthern.
