San Francisco
As if we needed another reason to love San Francisco — the famous Bay Bridge is now home to a monumental LED sculpture. Created by artist Leo Villareal, The Bay Lights installation features 25,000 white LEDs on the cables of the 1.8-mile, 500-ft.-high bridge. Admire the ever-changing light patterns (which reflect the waves, clouds, traffic and even birds of the Bay Area) every night from dusk until dawn — views are especially awesome from the waterfront/Financial District area known as The Embarcadero.
Milwaukee
Located one hour north of Milwaukee, Destination Kohler boasts The American Club resort and Kohler Waters Spa — both with a Forbes Five Star distinction — as well as four award-winning championship golf courses at Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run, nine unique restaurants, plus boutique shops. Nearby, the 800-plus acre wilderness preserve, River Wildlife, offers more than 30 miles of scenic woodland trails. Destination Kohler features plenty of special events throughout the year, including the upcoming Kohler Festival of Beer April 29-May 1 and the Kohler Food & Wine Experience Oct. 20-23. Houston:
Use the new flights from Atlanta to blast off into fun at the Space Center Houston, which is owned and operated by the nonprofit Manned Space Flight Education Foundation with an extensive education program, a museum of space artifacts and exhibits, and space attractions. It's also the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center and the only Smithsonian Affiliate in the greater Houston area. Designed to engage children and adults alike, the center features more than 400 space artifacts, permanent and traveling exhibits, attractions and theaters related to the future and past of America's human space-flight program. Don't miss The Lunar Touchstone—one of only eight lunar rocks in the world that you can touch! For more info, visit spacecenter.org.
