Banning Mills Adventure Park
This park proudly boasts the largest and longest zip line canopy tour on the planet — Guinness World Records gave them the bragging rights in 2012. At historic Banning Mills, about 50 miles southwest of Atlanta, visitors can choose from six levels consisting of more than 10 miles of zip lines and massive sky bridges. Some of the latter span more than 700 feet in length. The Sky Trek bridge, for instance, hangs nearly 200 feet above a gorge. And if you brave one of the Screaming Eagle zip lines, the staff likens it to stepping off a 30-story building.

Brunswick Kayak Tour
SouthEast Adventure Outfitters offers several options, including this sea kayaking tour for the whole brood. It doesn’t take seasoned skill to explore the marshes of Brunswick, as it’s billed as a beginners tour. A guide provides all of the tips, tricks and equipment needed. Guests can choose from a tandem or single kayak. The experience begins and ends at the outfitter’s private dock, and it lasts about two hours. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife. Crabs, dolphin, egrets, heron, turtles and more might be seen. Trips take place year-round, but can be canceled due to weather. It’s wise to book in advance and call before you head that way.

Georgia Girl Guides
This guiding service, operated by Christine Rose, offers hiking and cave exploration in the northwest Georgia mountains. With adventurous experiences taking place at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn and Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area in LaFayette, guests can choose what suits them best. Wild cave tours — which means you won’t find lights, hand rails or paved trails — take the brave through limestone caves and last from one to four hours.
