On Christmas Day, hotel guests will be gathering around tables at the following restaurants located at swank Southeastern resorts.
The Roosevelt New Orleans
A pair of Christmas Day meals roll out at this plush Big Easy hotel. From 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., brunch takes place in the Waldorf Astoria Ballroom. A wealth of items fill the food displays. Seafood, salads and carving stations featuring Cajun fried turkey and more make up just a portion of what’s available. A cupcake bar and other desserts offer a sweet finish. The Antoine Diel Trio performs live. The hotel’s Fountain Lounge hosts a four-course Christmas dinner from 2-8 p.m. Guests choose selections from a prix fixe menu.

The Omni Grove Park Inn
Elaborate entries from the annual National Gingerbread House Competition help decorate the acclaimed resort. Sadly, the creations are too artful to eat. Look for Christmas Day edibles in four of the hotel’s restaurants. Guests gorge on buffets in the Grand Ballroom (10:45 a.m.-6:45 p.m.) and the Blue Ridge restaurant (noon-8 p.m.). Expect the same offerings at both, including chilled seafood, soups, salads, carving stations, entrees, sides and desserts. The hotel’s Vue 1913 promises three-course elegance from 1-9:30 p.m., while Edison Craft Ales and Kitchen offers a more relaxed Christmas Day special in the form of bourbon mustard glazed ham.

The Galt House Hotel
Located in the heart of Louisville, Ky., the Galt House Hotel celebrates Christmas in a big way. A beaucoup of family-friendly special events, live shows, and zillions of decorations may just convert the most bitter of Scrooges. If that doesn’t work, take the elevator up to Rivue Restaurant & Lounge for Christmas Day brunch. From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., guests indulge in cold and hot items, and a bevy of desserts. Check out the carving stations with prime rib and Christmas ham.

The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa
Executive chef John Hart and chef de cuisine Anthony Giuliano are in the midst of preparing the menus for Christmas Day brunch (11 a.m.-3 p.m.) and dinner (6-10 p.m.). The duo promises traditional dishes with contemporary touches. Both will be served in the hotel’s Aqua Star restaurant. Walk off the meal by checking out the hotel’s Gingerbread Village filled with elaborate creations.

The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort
Several dining options abound on Christmas Day at this luxury beachside retreat. Jasmine Porch offers breakfast from 6:30-10:15 a.m. From noon-8 p.m., the restaurant serves what’s billed as Kiawah’s Grand Christmas Day Buffet. Christmas dinner goes Italian from 5-9 p.m. at Tomasso courtesy of chef Brandon Lapp. During those same dinner hours, the Ocean Room blends its steakhouse menu with holiday-tinged specials. Its Sushi Lounge will be open, too.
