Stocking the pantries with snacks, cereal and ravioli may just die down a bit once metro Atlanta schools are soon back in session.

Local students returning back to school, for the most part, will not only be back to the books but back to the cafeteria table.

Though the national average for school lunch participation is lower than in previous years at just 60 percent, there are still thousands of local children that will be loading up in lunch lines soon for everything from Chicken Tetrazzini to Tex Mex nachos.

Since the average parent will be leaving lunch up to their local school, it’s a good time to pose the question: what’s for lunch?
