About 14.1 million children in the U.S. are growing up in poverty. America is well behind other developed nations such as the United Kingdom and Canada when it comes to the welfare of children.

In a state-by-state analysis conducted by Save the Children in the U.S. Complement to its second annual End of Childhood Report, Georgia had one of the highest poverty rates in the country.

In rural areas of Georgia, at least 1 in 3 rural children are growing up in poverty.

Here is a look at the states where childhood is the most and least threatened.
