Want to be a more informed citizen? Attend this open records workshop
An upcoming workshop featuring veteran Georgia journalists will teach citizens how to find answers about what’s going on in their government using public records.
The Georgia First Amendment Foundation and the Kennesaw State University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists are hosting the event on June 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 1017 of KSU's Social Sciences Building.
Ken Foskett of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Jim Zachary of the Valdosta Daily Times will explain how to access public records for all levels of government, attend important public meetings and stand up to public officials who skirt open government laws.
Registration is $10 for the workshop, which can be done online. Attendees can park for free in KSU's West Parking Deck.
