You can get up close and personal with Gwinnett County’s emergency vehicles, including a helicopter and an ambulance, at the Public Safety Fall Festival this weekend.

The Gwinnett County Police Department and Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services are partnering for an afternoon at Coolray Field. The event will feature a display of emergency vehicles that children can sit inside and “pretend to drive,” a county release said.

Kids can also see police SWAT gear and watch fire specialty teams’ demonstrations. While the kids are distracted, parents can get car seats checked for safety.

Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement will also be on the scene with adoptable pets.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Coolray Field, located at 2500 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville.
