Dozens of food vendors and 10 margarita bars battled it out at Food-O-Rama's inaugural Atlanta Margarita + Taco Festival last weekend, and two of them came away as the winners.

About 22,000 people attended the event, a spokeswoman said, with guests voting for their favorite food and beverages from the establishments on hand.

At the end of the day, food truck Tex's Tacos brought home the trophy for best taco.

Co-owner Katherine Kimbrell said she appreciates the fans who support Tex’s.

“We love all you guys and thank you again for voting for us!” she said in an email Monday. “We are in the early stages of planning for a brick-and-mortar restaurant next year and can't wait to share the news with you all.”

As for the best margarita, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina was the favorite. The Buckhead location of the restaurant chain served its new Green Apple Glacier Margarita, made with a ginger-cherry infused ice cube.

The Buckhead location closed Saturday for renovations and will re-open May 26. Other locations in Fulton, Cobb and Gwinnett counties will also temporarily close between now and September.

The festival also included live music, games and an artist market.
