For many, getting the little ones in a photo with Santa Claus is an honored tradition.

The jolly old man will make his first appearance in Macy's court at Lenox Square Mall on Nov. 2, inviting children to divulge what they want this year and pose for a picture.

Oh, and while you're there, the kiddos may want to swing by to see "Priscilla," Macy's Pink Pig train ride that runs beneath a 170-foot, 1950s-themed tent. That runs from Nov. 3 to Jan. 6.

Of course there will also be a giant Christmas tree, marked by the 71st annual Macy’s Tree Lighting on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

Santa's photo packages start at $27.99, and reservations can be made online. Hours start out light and get longer the closer it gets to Christmas; some days, Santa will be there for more than 12 hours. The schedule is as follows:

• Nov. 2-3: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Nov. 4: noon to 6 p.m.

• Nov. 5-10: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Nov. 11: noon to 6 p.m. (Pet photos with Santa are allowed today. Please refrain from bringing reptiles or exotic animals.)

• Nov. 12-17: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Nov. 18: noon to 6 p.m. (Note: Tree lighting takes place at 7 p.m. It is on display until Jan. 1)

• Nov. 19-22: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Nov. 23-24: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Nov. 25: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Nov. 26 to Dec. 1: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Dec. 2: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (Caring Santa, a private event designed for children and young adults with special needs, takes place before the mall is open today. Register in advance on Eventbrite.)

• Dec. 2: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Dec. 3-6:  10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Dec. 7-8: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Dec. 9:  11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Pet photos with Santa are allowed today. Please refrain from bringing reptiles or exotic animals.)

• Dec. 10-13: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Dec. 14-15: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Dec. 16: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Dec. 17: 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Dec. 18-22: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Dec. 23: noon to 8 p.m.

• Christmas Eve: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Closed on Christmas Day, and for the season.
