A 5K designed to raise funds for autism research and treatments will take place at Piedmont Park in November.

Registration is open for the sixth annual event, which is hosted by advocacy group Autism Speaks Georgia. Music, prize giveaways and an information booth will be held for participants as they finish the run.

Individuals, teams and “virtual runners,” or those who would like to simply donate, may sign up online. Participation is free for children younger than six and costs $40 per runner or $35 for virtual runners.

The 3.1-mile race begins and ends at the Charles Allen entrance of Piedmont Park on 10th Street.

Online registration closes at 8 p.m. the evening prior to the Nov. 18 event. Day-of registration is available at 7:30 a.m., and the race begins at 9 a.m.

Packets may be picked up at Autism Speaks, 900 Circle 75 Pkwy., on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Nov. 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
