An Atlanta-based tarot reader has opened a "modern metaphysical shop" in Ponce City Market.
Modern Mystic Shop offers items such as crystals, candles, tarot decks, books, jewelry and apothecary items. Founded by Kelley Knight, the store also holds events including weekday tarot readings by appointments, $20 walk-in psychic readings on weekend afternoons and a New Year's Eve celebration.
Crystals on the website range from $3 for a pyrite nugget to $410 for a 10-pound giant pyrite.

Knight said she noticed “a gap in the Atlanta market for people seeking spiritual tools and guidance within a modern and welcoming aesthetic,” according to a press release.
The store is located on the second floor above the Central Food Hall. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Other new additions to the market include a "newsagent and boutique bodega," an independent toy store, a pop-up gallery with a unique mural, a pet store called Ace and Jack and a seasonal 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink and Christmas tree lot from King and Pops.
Ponce City Market is located at 675 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE.
