If you like that new-grocery-store smell, then you should clear your calendar for Thursday morning.

The new Aldi store will be opening at 8:25 a.m. at 860 Cobb Place Blvd. in Kennesaw, which is less than five miles from the closest Aldi.

The first 100 people in line get a “golden ticket.” Each will contain “Aldi gift cards of various amounts,” the company said.

Charlie Buckets would be hype.

The German grocery giant said the store opening in Cobb is part of a company push to open 2,500 stores across America by the end of 2022. It currently has about 1,600 stores in 35 states.
