Holiday prep already? Gwinnett’s Christmas tree to arrive Nov. 6

If you’re the forgetful type, you might still have your Halloween decorations up by the time Gwinnett County’s official Christmas tree arrives.

The county has selected a 30-foot Norway Spruce to be the centerpiece of the Annual Lighting of the Tree. The conifer, grown in the North Carolina mountains, will arrive in the county on Nov. 6, a week after Halloween and 49 days before Christmas.

The tree will be decorated and installed for public viewing on Nov. 7 on the grounds of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville. The Annual Lighting of the Tree will be held Thursday, Nov. 23, complete with a visit from Santa Claus.
