From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4, Marietta Square will be encircled with stars and stripes.
Marietta’s annual Independence Day celebration will include activities like a parade, games for children, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band and, of course, fireworks.
Civic organizations, beauty queens, Boy Scouts and local businesses will all be among the 2,000 participants and more than 40 floats in the parade, the city said.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church, heads west on Roswell Street, then north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway.
The end of the parade marks the start of the festival, which features more than 80 booths of artists. You can view the day's live music schedule here, which ends with the Buffett band Sons of Sailors.

The city said there’d be food like corn dogs and barbecue available.
The fireworks show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. and will be shot from the parking lot of First United Methodist Church. The city warned that bad weather might force staff to set the fireworks off early, which is why you should get a spot early.
About 80,000 people are estimated to attend the 12-hour event.
