The end of June is almost here.
And that means you need plans for the 4th of July.
Before you bust out your lawn chair, bug spray and picnic basket, check out these firework-filled events in north Fulton County. You can ring in Independence Day early with a picnic in Johns Creek or live music in Sandy Springs and then celebrate again on the Fourth in Roswell or Alpharetta.
Newtown Park, Johns Creek: July 1
The Independence Day Concert & Picnic begins at 6 p.m. and will end at 10 p.m. It will feature live music, food trucks, fireworks, games and family fun. Alcohol will be for sale inside the amphitheater, but Johns Creeks asks that folks do not bring outside alcohol, pets or fireworks.
Admission is free and folks can sit on their own lawn chairs or blankets. Johns Creek will allow for tables — which seat eight — to be reserved for $200. For more information, call 678-512-3200.
Sandy Springs Stars and Stripes Celebration: July 2
This event will take place between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Concourse Corporate Center, near the King and Queen Buildings. The band "Shiloh" will perform at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m. Admission is free, but pets, tents, drones, grills, alcohol and personal fireworks and sparklers are not allowed. Visit Sandy Springs' website for more info.
3rd Annual Barbecue & Bluegrass, Roswell: July 4
This event at Roswell's Barrington Hall will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live music will be played while vendors sell barbecue, beer, sodas, desserts and more. A children's area will also be available and it will feature arts and crafts. For more information, call 770-640-3855.
Fireworks at Roswell High School: July 4
This event kicks off at 5:30 p.m., when food trucks will roll into Roswell High. Dogs nor alcohol will be allowed, but Roswell encourages folks to bring the family along with a few lawn chairs. A "kids zone" featuring giant inflatables, carnival games and prizes will be open at 5:30 p.m. Bands will begin performing at 6 p.m. and fireworks will color the sky around 9:30 p.m. For more information, visit Roswell's Facebook page.

Wills Park, Alpharetta: July 4
The event begins at 6 p.m. and will be capped off with a fireworks extravaganza at dusk. Food vendors will serve treats until 10 p.m., but do note that they’ll only accept cash. The event will also feature live music. A city ordinance prohibits alcohol and tobacco from being used in the park, but pets are allowed if they are on a leash.
To ensure safety of large crowds attending, Alpharetta discourages the use of personal fireworks in the park during the event. Charcoal grills are also prohibited. Parking is available near the Wacky World Playground. For more info, call 678-297-6132 or email jlsimpson@alpharetta.ga.us.
