The pool at Piedmont Park has closed for the summer season. But as in years past: Your loss is your dog’s gain.

For the eighth consecutive year, the park is allowing dogs to swim in the aquatic center before it's drained. The Splish Splash Doggie Bash also includes dog vendor giveaways, music and access to concessions and a bar (excluding the Sunday morning session).

The autumn pool party takes place Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8 with three sessions — which last for one hour and 15 minutes — each day.

The $30 registration fee includes entry for one dog and one person. Each additional person is $5.

Proceeds benefit the Piedmont Dog Park.
