Go fetch a good time for you and your pet in Cobb this weekend.

Cobb Animal Control is hosting FURever Fest from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday on the front lawn of the shelter, 1060 Al Bishop Drive.

The free event will feature vendors with products for sale that can be used for your pets to "enhance the experience of adopting a pet and being a pet parent," according to the county.

There will also be organizations handing out information on pet ownership and a K-9 demonstration along with a DJ.

And of course, the shelter is happy to show you some animals to adopt and mentioned “special adoption rates” during the event, but didn’t get more specific than saying adopters will be entered for a drawing of a special prize.

Staff will also collect donations of unopened and unexpired cat or dog food for a local pet food pantry.
