The cow is coming back, y’all.

After weeks of renovation, the Chick-fil-A at 2105 Roswell Road in Marietta is reopening Thursday as long as construction ends well, according to the restaurant’s marketing director.

The grand opening is set for Saturday, if all goes well with construction, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the chance for "several lucky guests" to win 52 free chicken sandwiches, according to the Facebook event. But the restaurant wasn't clear how folks could or would enter to win the sandwiches.

There will be a facepainter at the celebration from noon to 2 p.m., and a balloon artist from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. And, yes, the cow mascot will be there all day.

The fast food joint's last day being open was July 14, and promised to re-emerge with "enhancements" to the dining room and drive-through areas.

Along the way, the restaurant has given seemingly daily updates on its 4,000-follower Facebook page about the progress.

One thing that's new is that customers will now be able to get root beer thanks to voters who chose the drink out of three possible new options. The poll garnered about 1,000 reactions.
