Valentine’s Day is almost here.

If reading that sentence brought you pleasure, made you giddy with anticipation and inspired visions of eating all of the chocolate, you probably need not read any further.

Because this is for those who audibly groaned with dread at the thought of enduring sickening displays of affection between hand-holding, kiss-stealing couples. And there’s nothing wrong with that; the love holiday isn’t for everyone.

Hey, you’re still here. That must mean you need ideas for safe things to do around Feb. 14 — stuff that likely won’t leave you next to someone on the receiving end of a grandiose proposal.

Seriously. If you are single and want to skip right over Valentine’s festivities, you should be free from reminders at these places.

Study snowflakes up close in Roswell
It's not that you're cold-hearted. It's just you'd rather stare at the structure of a snowflake under a microscope than into another's eyes this year. We get it.

Take a pensive solo hike in Johns Creek
The 43-acre site of Autrey Mill has more than 2.5 miles of trails through a hardwood forest. Or if you'd rather not be left alone with your thoughts that day, you can do a cell phone tour and listen to the history of the buildings, including their previous residents and interesting features.

Watch a play about murder in Sandy Springs
The premise of this Agatha Christie play, aptly named "And Then There Were None," involves ten guilty strangers who are trapped on an island and start to die off, one by one. In other words, not exactly a rom-com.
The Act3 Playhouse, runs on certain dates between Feb. 10 through Feb. 25 (does not play Feb. 14)

Have a solo picnic at Friendship Community Park in Milton
If the name is any indication, this 1.81-acre park is where platonic relationships blossom. It has a small picnic pavilion, a walking path, a basketball half-court and a field. For frolicking, presumingly.
