Christmas wouldn’t be the same without gingerbread, and this holiday season an Alpharetta art studio has you covered.
From 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Creative Escapes Studio will host a gingerbread house decorating party.

For $30, the studio invites individuals to bring friends and family along to decorate the festive, edible homes. The cost includes one gingerbread house and plenty of decorations, and candy to make your build fit your imaginative ideas. The only thing the studio asks you to supply is your creativity. Treats will be on hand for hungry builders so guests don’t have to munch on their masterpieces in the process.
While this event features edible creations, the facility usually offers art classes with non-digestible fair. Past holiday-themed courses included an adult finger-painting class of a frozen stream and other classes focused on characters from Disney’s “Frozen” and Dr. Seuss characters, Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch.

But this isn’t the only place offering ways for families to get their hands dirty in a festive way. There are several gingerbread house-building options in metro Atlanta.
Cooks & Soldiers in West Midtown allows guests to bake and decorate a cookie abode in a Dec. 22 class. Meanwhile, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in Peachtree Corners is selling $5.95 gingerbread house kits through the end of the year.
