Atlanta has so many gorgeous patios, which makes it hard to choose just one. That's why we have an exact tie this week for first place in our readers poll. It might come as no surprise to you that one of our winners is Six Feet Under in Grant Park, with views of the Atlanta skyline as well as Historic Oakland Cemetery (thus the name of the restaurant). You'll want to dine on all things seafood at this joint (oysters, anyone?) while enjoying your favorite local brew. It's a little piece of heaven located next to a lot of history.
Our second first place winner for best patio is 1910 Public House in Lilburn, located in Gwinnett County. Dine al fresco in this charming town located only a short 30 minute drive or less from Atlanta proper. Bright yellow tables and chairs will warmly invite you to sit a spell and enjoy the simpler things in life -- sunshine, good conversation and great food. Apparently 1910 Public House is already on your radar since it also won Best First Date Spot in our poll earlier this year. In case you needed another reason, now you have one. Be sure to try their signature burger topped with pimento cheese and a fried green tomato.
Seafood and outdoor dining must go hand-in-hand, as our second place winner offers some of the best ocean delicacies Atlanta has to offer. Patio seating at The Optimist means putt-putt golf on their mini course while eating all of the oysters in sight. Choose between benches, lounge chairs or quaint dining tables for your optimal dining experience.
These are only three of a vast array of patio options in and around Atlanta. All of our official nominees have something special to offer by way of dining or sipping outdoors -- Dancing Goats Coffee Bar at Ponce City Market, Greenwood's on Green Street in Roswell, Raging Burrito in Decatur, King + Duke in Buckhead and Seed Kitchen & Bar in Marietta. This is a fine time of year to start doing a little research to discover your own favorites. You'll want to soak in all the rays while you enjoy some of the best weather and food Atlanta has to offer.
