Graduating from high school or college in 2020 looks a lot different than it has in previous years.
High schools and colleges in Georgia and across the nation have canceled in person ceremonies due to the coronavirus pandemic. But that doesn't mean high school seniors and new college alumni can't mark the occasion at home.

Here are five ways you can celebrate the big milestone virtually and at home while involving family and friends, according to USA Today.
Have a video chat party
You can’t gather in person, but getting together on live video could be the next best thing. Video chats have been a popular way of keeping in touch with loved ones while people adhere to social distancing guidelines. Make it a party with balloons, party horns and music.
Deliver a tasty treat
Sitting side by side with friends and extended family for a slice of graduation cake may be out of the question, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a treat to celebrate your milestone. Family and friends can deliver something sweet via Krispy Kreme or Edible Arrangements, which is also giving away Celebration Dipped Fruit Delights to 2,020 graduates. The former is selling a "Graduation Dozen" May 18-24 — graduates can even get a free box on May 19.

Have a solo graduation procession
No, you won’t be with your classmates, but you can still have a graduation procession — and your family won’t have a hard time spotting you. Don your cap and gown, and don’t forget any special cords, medals or stoles as you take pride in your accomplishments. Be sure to play “Pomp & Circumstance” as you accept your placeholder diploma, but feel free to mix it up with any graduation-themed song you choose.
Tune in to a virtual commencement address
A benefit of a virtual graduation ceremony is that you can have your pick of celebrity commencement speakers. Stars like Oprah Winfrey, Lithia Springs native Lil Nas X and former President Barack Obama are among the big names who are set to take part in a virtual event on Facebook and Instagram.

Bring college campus home
Many college graduates have decided to snap photos in their caps and gowns at home by incorporating touches of the campus on which they spent the past several years. Georgia Tech has invited grads to use their favorite photo editing app to place themselves in popular grad photo op locations such as McCamish Pavilion and Tech Tower. Meanwhile, a University of Georgia graduate constructed campus landmark the Arch at her home in North Carolina.
