It’s time to lace up for developmental disabilities.

The DeKalb Community Service Board will hold the 9th Annual Walk of HEROes in the downtown Decatur square on Sept. 19.

The Walk of HEROes is an annual 5k honoring those battling developmental disabilities and behavioral health illnesses.

The event starts at 8 a.m.

Festivities include the 5K walk, face painting, a costume contest, vendors and more, benefiting the Brighter DeKalb Foundation, a nonprofit founded by the DeKalb CSB.

The DeKalb Community Services Board serves more than 10,000 people annually to help them recover and resume productive lives.
