Atlanta Veterans Day Parade – On Saturday, Nov. 11, the Georgia Veterans Day Parade in downtown Atlanta starts at 11:11 a.m. on Peachtree Street south of Ralph McGill/Ivan Allen Boulevard.

The parade will proceed south on Peachtree Street, turn right on Baker Street toward Centennial Olympic Park, The World of Coca-Cola, and Georgia Aquarium. It continues on Baker Street and takes a left on Marietta Street. The parade will end at the intersection of Centennial Olympic Park Drive and Marietta Street. The reviewing stand will be on Baker Street between the World of Coke and the aquarium. Parking: pay lots near Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coke are options.

Gwinnett Veterans Day Ceremony: County administrator presides and Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash is speaking at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fallen Heroes Memorial, Gwinnett Justice & Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville 30046.

Cumming Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, Cumming hosts its annual tribute to veterans.

The event will be at the Cumming Veterans War Memorial, 301 Veterans Memorial Boulevard (next to the Cumming Police Department). Planned by local veterans and school groups, it includes live music, a rifle salute, and other patriotic displays. The city displays its Avenue of Flags, featuring almost 250 American flags. Each flag on the avenue represents at least one deceased veteran from the community.

Marietta Veterans Day Parade: The 13th annual Marietta Veterans Day Parade takes place Saturday, Nov. 11, and begins at 11 am at Roswell Street Baptist Church.

It loops through Marietta Square and ends at the new Cobb Courthouse and Marietta City Hall. The parade features marching bands, drill teams, floats, military vehicles and veterans organizations.

Sandy Springs Veterans Day Tribute: The City of Sandy Springs will host its annual Veterans Day Tribute on Friday, Nov. 10, starting at 11:30 a.m. The celebration to honor those who serve and served America will be at the Veterans Memorial, located at the Concourse Corporate Center next to the Queen Building (Building Five).

Woodstock Veterans Celebration: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, willingness to serve, and sacrifice for the common good is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11., at The Park at City Center, 101 Arnold Mill Road.

Freedom Ball: The Georgia Veterans Day Association Inc. hosts the 2017 Freedom Ball, starting at 6 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the Oceans Ballroom at Georgia Aquarium, 225 Baker St. NW.
