Bootcut, skinny, stretchy, pajama-style — they’re all designed to make your bottom half your better half. Check out the best picks for every body!

Curvy all over

Cut full through the hip and thigh, stretchy cobalt trousers can slim your shape. Bonus: The higher-in-back, no-gap waist.

Flex appeal: Spandex (1 percent to 2 percent) is a must for the right fit: Without it, you'll size up to accommodate wider parts, but fabric will sag around your slimmer spots — no, thanks!

Take the long view: A styling tip for hourglass gals: Your top should end just below the widest point of your hips for maximum flattery.

Pear-shaped

Comfy yet classy pull-on trousers minimize your bottom line. The every-way stretch is like a built-in control top — gotta love that!

Go with the flow: A bootcut or bell-bottom leg balances your proportions; a cigarette-skinny style will just emphasize your lower half.

Secret slimmer: Often labeled "four-way" stretch, shapewear-inspired fabrics contain a hint of huggy Spandex for almost as much support as a girdle (remember those?).

Short legs

You’ll look longer and leaner with a straight leg (flares will just shorten your stature).

Tall(er) order: Bypass boxy sweaters and button-downs. Keeping clothes fitted on both bottom and top helps you visually grow an inch or two.

Think small: Instead of a notice-me necklace, pick something more delicate. Sometimes less is lovely, especially on a petite frame.

Belly bulge

Cleverly constructed pants have a mesh panel hidden in front — it sucks in your tummy so you don’t have to!

High and mighty: We're not recommending "mom jeans," but wearing a low rise will emphasize that bit of pooch. Aim for a waistband that just skims the bottom of your navel.

Extra bandwidth: A mega waistband (we're talking more than two inches wide) helps contain your curves and is less likely to flip over or land you in muffin-top territory.
