The kickoff for the holiday season is upon us and Atlanta doesn’t disappoint.
Check out a play written by Ayanna Gregory or spend the day at Atlantic Station for “Light the Station 2018.”

Ayanna Gregory in “Daughter of the Struggle”
Ayanna Gregory, the daughter of the late comedian and civil rights veteran Dick Gregory, will be featured in the play, “Daughter of the Struggle,” at the King Center on Nov. 16.
The event is being held in honor of Yolanda Denise King’s 63rd birthday. King, an actress, activist and public speaker, was the eldest daughter of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. She died in 2007.
The one-woman play was written and will be performed by Gregory. It includes powerful stories and songs as it delves into the life and times of Dick Gregory through a daughter’s perspective.

Light the Station 2018
Atlantic Station will officially kick off the holidays with its annual “Light the Station 2018.”
This year’s events will be held in a new location on “Winter Wonder Lane” – just off Market Street and adjacent to Dillard’s.
Families can enjoy skate the station, Santa’s Cottage, an activity village for children and live music. Santa’s parade begins at 7 p.m. and the big jolly one arrives at the Grand Christmas Tree at 7:45 p.m.

Jordanian Night
Join the ALIF Institute Nov. 17 for a celebration of Jordanian and Bedouin culture.
Dr. Jomana Wilson and Scott Wilson will present and share their stories and experiences in Jordan and after guests will enjoy music, coffee and a catered meal.
