Taste for charity? Julio Delgado cooks up meals to aid Latino charity

Got a taste for helping others?

You can sample great food and help raise money for Ser Familia during the nonprofit's annual "Celebrating Our Heritage" event 7 p.m. Sept. 24.

Chef Julio Delgado, winner of Food Network's "Cutthroat Kitchen" will team up with Oscar Mendivil, executive chef at Tapa Tapa; Benny Vega, executive chef at Tower & Church Bistro; and Andrew Litherland, executive chef at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation.

The event will be held at the Rialto Center for the Arts, 80 Forsyth St. N.W.

It includes live music, a display of work by local artists and awards recognizing those that have supported Ser Familia’s work during the past year.

The organization has programs that help Latino families and addresses such issues as suicide and domestic violence.

Tickets are $100 per person and $150 per couple.
