Q: I am looking for Celeche perfume by Hermes. Can you help me find it? Many thanks. — Deb Wells, email
A: This woody fragrance, launched in 1961, is the first women’s perfume from Hermes. Bloomingdale’s at Lenox Square stocks the original Hermes Caleche in both the perfume and eau de toilette. A half-ounce bottle of Caleche perfume costs $245 while a 3.3-ounce of Caleche EDT will set you back $150. Note that you might come across Caleche soie de parfum, which is a lighter, updated version that isn’t the original Caleche.
Q: Help! I love liverwurst but not its high fat content. There are two that I’ve had that are relatively low in fat: Boar’s Head lite Braunschweiger liverwurst and Schaller and Weber calves liver pate. I can’t find either one in Atlanta. Thank you. — Sylvia Russell, Atlanta
A: You can find your reduced-fat Boar’s Head lite Braunschweiger liverwurst in the deli case for $6.49 per pound at Kroger, 2205 Lavista Road, Atlanta, 404-633-8694.
Q: I used to buy jars of Randall pinto beans at Kroger. These beans are truly the best beans I have ever eaten. They have a low sodium content (not the easiest thing to find in a prepared bean product), are firm, not mushy at all. I have not been able to find this product in stores for quite some time, and have ordered them online once, but shipping was expensive. I travel to Atlanta a couple of times a month, so it would not be inconvenient if I had to get them at a store there. Thank you! — Kevin Herron, Cartersville
A: Kevin, you won’t have to leave town to find your favorite pinto beans. Randall deluxe pinto beans come in a 24-ounce glass jar and they’re fully cooked and ready to eat or use in your recipes. You’ll find them on aisle four at Kroger, 51 N. Morningside Drive, Cartersville, 770-386-8102. Each jar costs $3.69.
Q: My wife and I have made multiple visits to France, especially to areas around the Massif Central, and have truly fallen in love with that beautiful cheese called Cantal entre deux — sometimes known as French Cheddar. While it can be ordered online from a couple of places, I wondered if it was available in a grocery store, deli, or specialty store in the Atlanta area. We live in Grayson, but would drive just about anywhere in the Atlanta area to buy some. Thanks! — Steve deClaissé-Walford, Grayson
A: Steve, I’ve got the ideal place for you to get your favorite French cheese. Check out Alon’s Bakery and Market, 1394 North Highland Ave., Atlanta, 404-872-6000. This French bakery stocks Cantal on a regular basis, and you can get excellent baguettes to pair with your cheese. Cantal at Alon’s sells for $16 per pound.
