Low maintenance. Everything about your beach vacation should exemplify those two words, and that extends to your hair care. But that doesn't mean you should sacrifice stylish or healthy looking tresses. We've rounded up a couple of experts to offer hot tips, along with their favorite styling products that will take you from splashing in the surf to a moonlight rendezvous -- without expending a lot of excess time or energy. Oh, and leave those heated styling tools at home. You won't need them where you're going.
Juan Carlos Maciques, senior stylist, Rita Hazan Salon, NYC
"Most likely your hair will be wet for your transition, so a sleek look is in order," he says.
Maciques suggests drenching your hair with fresh water before hitting the pool or dipping into the ocean because hair that's already saturated will absorb less chlorinated or salty sea water.
And don't forget protection from the sun. Clarins Sunscreen Sun Care Oil Spray SPF 30 ($36), is a lightweight, dry oil spray formulated to use on skin and hair, protecting both from the drying effects of sun, salt water and chlorine, while defending from damaging UVA/UVB rays.
"Always rinse your hair post pool or ocean. Carry a gel to slick your hair afterward. I love Oribe Rock Hard Gel ($41) for coarse, frizzy hair. It will hold under hurricane conditions. Comb into a low pony and use a gentle elastic band to tie it down, and wrap the rest around into a bun. It's a classic chic resort look that's so simple," he says.
If the wet look doesn't suit you, then maybe soft beach waves are in order. When you're going from the pool to evening festivities, Maciques recommends rinsing your hair thoroughly, then adding some salt spray.
"I like R&Co Rockaway Salt Spray ($25). Spray sparingly but evenly, scrunch into hair and let air dry," he says.

"Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray ($19.95) is such a great way to not only give your hair that leave-in condition it needs in the heat of the summer, but also adds the tousled beachy texture everyone craves," she says.
Bettis also suggests a favorite product to get your hair evening primed -- pronto.
"Later, when there's not much time to get ready for dinner with friends, you can simply spray Triple Sec by Dry Bar, travel size ($13) to refresh and add more texture. This will also help anchor in any bobby pins if you want to throw in some knots or braids for a sexier beach look. And don't worry about getting too close on the dance floor, ARI by Ariana Grande Hair Mist ($20) has you covered with a light and pleasant fragrance for freshness. "
That's right, perfume for your vacation hair.
